We will then have the exchange of views with the acting President of the European Parliament. In
our working session afterwards, and in the presence of the President of the European Central Bank,
we will first conclude our yearly cycle of economic policy coordination, the 2014 European
semester, turning to growth, jobs and competitiveness as well as regulatory fitness. Next, we will
agree on the strategic guidelines for legislative and operational planning for the coming years within
the area of freedom, security and justice. The third major item will be climate and energy, with a
view to preparing the ground for a final package in October. We will also welcome Lithuania's
entry into the euro area and endorse the granting of candidate status to Albania.
We will end the working session at 12.50 when President Poroshenko will address briefly the
European Council.
Next, we will start our luncheon where the focus will first be on the situation in Ukraine. We will
then turn to the decision proposing to the European Parliament a candidate for President of the
Commission.
