Interparliamentary meeting on
The Parliamentary Dimension to the Eastern Partnership
Stockholm 20-21 October 2009
Dear Colleague
As stated in the Joint Declaration of the Prague Eastern Partnership Summit on 7 May
2009, parliamentarians from the European Union and the Partner Countries are
encouraged to consider ways and means of shaping a parliamentary dimension to the
Eastern Partnership.
A letter notifying you of our plans to invite you to a first discussion on this topic was
sent on 1 July 2009. It is now my great pleasure, as Chair of the Committee on
Foreign Affairs, to welcome you to Stockholm for a first discussion on how to shape
the parliamentary dimension to the Eastern Partnership. The meeting is scheduled to
take place on Wednesday 21 October 2009.
We will begin with a dinner on Tuesday 20 October at 8 p.m. and then have
discussions on Wednesday at 9 a.m. The meeting will end with a lunch. Enclosed you
will find information about practical matters, hotel reservations and web registration.
