Your Excellency,
This letter has been distributed to the leaders of EU and NATO countries and partners as well as
international organizations - EU, NATO, UN, CoE, and OSCE.
We, Georgian citizens and expats, are immensely grateful for the solidarity and political support
demonstrated by our international partners towards Georgia in such critically important times.
Evaluation of October 26 parliamentary elections conducted by OSCE/ODIHR and other
international organizations clearly shows that these elections did not meet the standards of free
and fair electoral process. Furthermore, the systemic violence and persecution perpetrated by
the Georgian authorities, as well as affiliated militant groups, has gone unpunished. The sheer
scale of the crackdown can amount to a crime against humanity and is undoubtedly a sign of the
authoritarian state that the Georgian dream party is attempting to create in Georgia.
The so-called Government of Georgian Dream party has purposefully distanced itself from the
West and demonstrated multiple times the willingness to give up Georgia’s national interests and
its resources in favor of authoritarian countries such as Russia, Iran, and China, simply in order to
seize and maintain power and wealth.
The Georgian Dream is relentlessly undermining free speech, imposing new laws and regulations
each passing day. The situation we find ourselves in, is no longer about fighting the decline of
democracy but very clearly about the Georgian people’s struggle against
active efforts of
establishing autocracy, which is driving our country towards a catastrophe.
Georgian Ambassadors working in the countries of NATO and EU possess relevant professional
competence to know better than anyone that Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic
integration
process is suspended only due to the political decisions of the Georgian Dream. Unfortunately,
those diplomats not only fail to fulfill their professional duties but also show a blatant disregard
for Georgia’s national interests and security. They continue to neglect Georgian people’s
historical aspiration towards Euro-Atlantic integration, written into the Georgian constitution and
confirmed through open popular support over many years. As such, any actions by state officials
or civil servants, including diplomats, that undermine Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic
path, are
unconstitutional and hostile towards the will of Georgian people.
With their disgraceful silence on the facts of torture and repression of Georgian citizens, Georgian
Ambassadors are directly participating in strengthening the violent regime of the Georgian
Dream and are consciously pushing our country into isolation and impoverishment.
