Invitation to the Inter-Parliamentary Committee meeting on “Global
Gateway and the 4th Conference on Financing for Development: Advancing
Poverty Eradication and Energy Access in Developing Countries”, Brussels,

Dear Chair,
I am pleased to inform you that the European Parliament’s Committee on Development
(DEVE) will organise an Inter-Parliamentary Committee Meeting with National Parliaments
on 20 May 2025 in Brussels, under the theme: “Global Gateway and the 4th Conference on
Financing for Development: Advancing Poverty Eradication and Energy Access in
Developing Countries”.
Please note that participation in the meeting will be in person, and the duration of the event
may be subject to change.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss financing for development in light of current
geopolitical challenges, in preparation for the United Nations Fourth International Conference
on Financing for Development.
The DEVE Committee warmly invites Members of National Parliaments to this Inter-
Parliamentary Committee Meeting to share their perspectives and experiences, thereby
making a valuable contribution to the discussion.
Accordingly, I am pleased to invite up to four Members of your committee to attend the
meeting.
Practical details will be provided in due course to the relevant services within your Parliament
responsible for relations with the European Parliament.
