Subject: Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (ICM) on "Vision for Food and
Agriculture - Implications at National and EU level” - invitation as speaker
Dear Chair,
With the aim of discussing key agricultural policies, the European Parliament’s Committee on
Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) will hold an Interparliamentary Committee
Meeting (ICM) entitled "Vision for Food and Agriculture - Implications at National and EU
Level”.
On behalf of the AGRI Committee, I would like to invite you to attend the ICM, which will be
held at the European Parliament in Brussels on
Thursday, 25 September 2025 from 9.00 to
12.30
The event is organised not only to assess current policies but also with a forward-looking
perspective. With a view to the forthcoming Common Agricultural Policy proposals, the event
seeks to facilitate a constructive discussion that anticipates legislative developments, ensuring
that future policies are well-adapted to the evolving needs and challenges of European
agriculture.
This meeting will bring together representatives from the European Parliament, national
parliaments, EU institutions, and relevant officials to explore two key thematic areas:
1. Ensuring a Fair Standard of Living for Farmers as a Prerequisite for Food Security and
Generational Renewal
2. New Tools for Risk Management: Enhancing the Agricultural Reserve and Developing
Mechanisms to Address Natural, Market, and Sanitary Risks
By fostering direct exchanges between policymakers and experts, this event will serve as a high-
level forum for dialogue, enabling participants to assess policy impacts, share best practices,
and explore solutions to key challenges facing the agricultural sector at both national and EU
levels.
I would thus like to cordially invite up to four Members of the relevant committee(s) from each
national Parliament (two from each Chamber in the case of bi-cameral Parliaments) to attend
this meeting.
